Hey, I'm Michael.
Product manager in generative AI. I like solving real problems with technology.
What I'm about
I've always been on the business side — consulting, strategy, trying to understand how organisations actually work. Somewhere along the way I fell into technology product management and realised that's where I can make the most impact.
These days I work in generative AI, but that's just where I am right now. Before this I've done stints in defence (based in Canberra) and financial services (Sydney). I've worked on everything from long government consulting engagements to fast-moving product builds.
What drives me is understanding businesses and helping people. I like getting my hands dirty — taking something messy and turning it into something that actually works. Not precious about the domain, just passionate about solving problems.

AI-powered product workflows
Working on generative AI products that help people do their jobs better. Translating complex AI capabilities into things people actually want to use.
MAPS — Manpower and Planning Analysis System
Upgraded a defence-wide workforce management system across all three services. In the Navy, it tracked which sailors had what qualifications and matched them to vessel deployment requirements — plus made sure health checks were done before sailing. In the Army, it handled the MECRB process (the recommendations and certifications board). Right people, right platforms, right quals.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Management
Built an enterprise-wide solution to deconflict spectrum users across Australia. Figured out which frequencies were used on different defence ranges, and made sure military radios, radars, and electronic warfare systems didn't clash with each other — or with civilian users. Built a knowledge base of how different platforms interact: what worked, what didn't, and the technical specs behind it.
Regulatory and transformation projects
Worked with CBA, ANZ, and Suncorp on a mix of regulatory and transformation projects. At ANZ, I was a product analyst helping move members into MySuper-compliant products — running calculations, designing models for the member's best interest test, and handling compliance and financial reporting. Also worked on complaints management reforms in the wake of the Royal Commission.
